Video VFX

This music video seamlessly blends performance energy with cinematic visual effects to create a visually rich world around the artist. The cut is paced to the track with beat matched transitions, while stylized effects, 3D elements, and compositing turn practical footage into a distinctive, branded aesthetic. The result is a fast, immersive piece that feels larger than the location, utilizing VFX to extend space, intensify the mood, and add story-driven symbolism.

Project Objectives:

  • Showcase the artist with a bold, stylized identity that matches the track’s tone.

  • Use visual effects and 3D to push beyond practical locations and create memorable “hero shots.”

  • Keep the edit music‑first: rhythm, phrasing, and transitions lock to the beat.

  • Deliver a social‑ready 4K master with short promo cutdowns for teasers.

Production:

  • Lighting continuity: key/fill ratios noted for 3D lighting match later.

  • Tracking markers/parallax: when needed, placed discreetly for robust 3D camera solves.

  • Safety takes: duplicate key actions for comp options and clean edges for roto.

Post-production:

  • Beat‑matched edit: speed ramps, J/L cuts, and action‑matched transitions at phrase changes.

  • Color: look build in Resolve contrast curve, teal/cyan shadow bias (if desired), preserved skin

  • tones, film‑grain + halation for cohesion.

  • Finishing polish: lens‑distortion compensation (pre‑VFX), gentle chromatic aberration/bloom (post‑VFX), deflicker where needed.

VFX & 3D Pipeline:

Tracking & Prep

  • Lens‑distortion undistort → VFX → redistort workflow to ensure pixel‑accurate integration.

  • Rotoscoping with Rotobrush 2 / spline shapes for clean subject isolation and proper depth ordering.

  • 3D camera solves (AE 3D Camera Tracker) for moving shots; 2D planar tracks (Mocha/AE) for screens and signage.

    3D Modeling & Animation:

  • Imported 3D models (logos, geometric forms, environmental props).

  • Procedural animation for looping motion; keyframed moves synced to beat drops.

  • Physics/particles for debris/embers/sparks or ambient dust; randomized timing for organic feel.

Compositing:

  • Displacement & heat distortions (turbulent displacement, vector noise) around energy objects.

  • Glitch & temporal FX (time echo, frame stutter, chroma split) for chorus impacts.

  • Z‑depth fog and atmospheric haze to integrate scale; selective glow/emissive for neon/holographic elements.
